Bollywood actress Sonali Bendre was diagnosed with metastatic cancer in 2018 and underwent treatment for it in New York. She emerged victorious in her fight with cancer later that year and returned to India. Now, in a new interview, Sonali spoke about her cancer journey and revealed how it changed her perspective in life. The actress stated that surgery left her with a 23-24 inch scar across her body and thus she was instructed by her doctors to start walking as soon as possible to prevent her from catching an infection.

Speaking to Mashable India, Sonali said that she and her husband Goldie called the two eras of her life “BC and AC which is before cancer and after cancer. The actress admitted that it was hard to witness changes in her appearance after she was diagnosed with cancer. Sonali went on to reveal that the first thing doctors told her was to leave the hospital as fast as possible as they were concerned about her catching an infection that would be resistant to antibiotics. “Post surgery, my surgeon was like I want you walking in 24 hours. In 24 hours, I was holding my IV and walking in the corridor. It was hard because I had a cut which is 23-24 inches,” Sonali was further quoted saying. 

On the work front, the 47-year-old actress returned to work after four years. She is currently seen judging the reality show DID Li'l Masters 5 with Mouni Roy and Remo D'souza. Talking about her return to television, the actress in an interview asserted that her comeback has been a bit emotional and that she is grateful that she is getting to do work.
